यथा वा —
स्यमन्तकं हन्त वमन्तम् अर्थं
निह्नुत्य दूरे यद् अहं प्रयातः ।
अवद्यम् अद्यापि तद् एव कर्म
शर्माणि चित्ते मम निर्भिनत्ति ॥२.४.५०॥yathā vā —
syamantakaṃ hanta vamantam arthaṃ
nihnutya dūre yad ahaṃ prayātaḥ |
avadyam adyāpi tad eva karma
śarmāṇi citte mama nirbhinatti ||2.4.50||
English translation
Another example:
“Akrura thought, ‘I have hidden the Syamantaka jewel which gives wealth, and fled away. In anxiety because of this despicable act, until today, happiness has disappeared from my heart.’ ”
