The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.41; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ (७) गर्वः —
सौभाग्य-रूप-तारुण्य-गुण-सर्वोत्तमाश्रयैः ।
इष्ट-लाभादिना चान्य-हेलनं गर्व ईर्यते ॥२.४.४१॥

atha (7) garvaḥ
saubhāgya-rūpa-tāruṇya-guṇa-sarvottamāśrayaiḥ |
iṣṭa-lābhādinā cānya-helanaṃ garva īryate
||2.4.41||

English translation

“Treating others with contempt due to one’s own good fortune, due to youthful beauty, due to one’s good qualities, due to taking shelter of the Lord or sue to attaining one’s object of love, is called garva or haughtiness.”
