The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.25; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

आद्य-शब्देन लज्जयापि, यथा तत्रैव (१०.२२.१४) —
मा’नयं भोः कृथास् त्वां तु नन्द-गोप-सुतं प्रियम् ।
जानीमो’ङ्ग व्रज-श्लाघ्यं देहि वासांसि वेपिताः ॥२.४.२५॥ādya-śabdena lajjayāpi, yathā tatraiva (10.22.14) —
mā’nayaṃ bhoḥ kṛthās tvāṃ tu nanda-gopa-sutaṃ priyam |
jānīmo’ṅga vraja-ślāghyaṃ dehi vāsāṃsi vepitāḥ ||2.4.25||
English translation
The word adya in duḥkha-trāsāparādhādyair [verse 21] indicates that dainyam also arises from shame. This is illustrated in the Tenth Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [10.22.14]:
“Dear Kṛṣṇa, don't be unfair! We know that You are the respectable son of Nanda and that You are honored by everyone in Vraja. You are also very dear to us. Please give us back our clothes. We are shivering in the cold water.”
