The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.22; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र दुःखेन, यथा श्री-दशमे (१०.५१.५७) —
चिरम् इह वृजिनार्तस् तप्यमानो’नुतापैर्
अवितृष-षड-मित्रो लब्ध-शान्तिः कथङ्चित् ।
शरणद समुपेतस् त्वत्-पदाब्जं परात्मन्न्
अभयम् ऋतम् अशोकं पाहि मापन्नम् ईश ॥२.४.२२॥tatra duḥkhena, yathā śrī-daśame (10.51.57) —
ciram iha vṛjinārtas tapyamāno’nutāpair
avitṛṣa-ṣaḍa-mitro labdha-śāntiḥ kathaṅcit |
śaraṇada samupetas tvat-padābjaṃ parātmann
abhayam ṛtam aśokaṃ pāhi māpannam īśa ||2.4.22||
English translation
Humility arising from sorrow, from the Tenth Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [10.51.57]:
“For so long I have been pained by troubles in this world and have been burning with lamentation. My six enemies are never satiated, and I can find
no peace. Therefore, O giver of shelter, O Supreme Soul, please protect me. O Lord, in the midst of danger I have by good fortune approached Your lotus feet, which are the Absolute Truth and thus make one fearless and free of sorrow.”
