The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.16; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र इष्टानवाप्तितो, यथा —
जरां याता मूर्तिर् मम विवशतां वाग् अपि गता
मनो-वृत्तिश् चेयं स्मृति-विधुरता-पद्धतिम् अगात् ।
अघ-ध्वंसिन् दूरे वसतु भवद्-आलोकन-शशी
मया हन्त प्राप्तो न भजन-रुचेर् अप्य् अवसरः ॥२.४.१६॥

tatra iṣṭānavāptito, yathā —
jarāṃ yātā mūrtir mama vivaśatāṃ vāg api gatā
mano-vṛttiś ceyaṃ smṛti-vidhuratā-paddhatim agāt |
agha-dhvaṃsin dūre vasatu bhavad-ālokana-śaśī
mayā hanta prāpto na bhajana-rucer apy avasaraḥ
||2.4.16||

English translation

From not attaining one’s desired object:
“O Kṛṣṇa, killer of the Agha demon! My body is afflicted with age, my words are uncontrolled and my mind is without power of memory. What to speak of attaining the moon of bliss on seeing You, I have not even attained the opportunity of desiring to worship You!”
