The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.13; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. अमङ्गलम् अपि प्रोच्य निर्वेदं प्रथमं मुनिः ।
मेने’मुं स्थायिनं शान्त इति जल्पन्ति केचन ॥२.४.१३॥amaṅgalam api procya nirvedaṃ prathamaṃ muniḥ |
mene’muṃ sthāyinaṃ śānta iti jalpanti kecana ||2.4.13||
English translation
“Though it is inauspicious, Bharata Muni has mentioned nirveda as the first vyabhicārī-bhāva, since it is the sthāyi-bhāva for śānta-rasa. This is the opinion of some persons.”
