The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.13; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अमङ्गलम् अपि प्रोच्य निर्वेदं प्रथमं मुनिः ।
मेने’मुं स्थायिनं शान्त इति जल्पन्ति केचन ॥२.४.१३॥

amaṅgalam api procya nirvedaṃ prathamaṃ muniḥ |
mene’muṃ sthāyinaṃ śānta iti jalpanti kecana
||2.4.13||

English translation

“Though it is inauspicious, Bharata Muni has mentioned nirveda as the first vyabhicārī-bhāva, since it is the sthāyi-bhāva for śānta-rasa. This is the opinion of some persons.”
