The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.9; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

विप्रयोगेण, यथा —
असङ्गमान् माधव-माधुरीणाम्
अपुष्पिते नीरसतां प्रयाते ।
वृन्दावने शीर्यति हा कुतो’सौ
प्राणित्य् अपुण्यः सुबलो द्विरेफः ॥२.४.९॥

viprayogeṇa, yathā —
asaṅgamān mādhava-mādhurīṇām
apuṣpite nīrasatāṃ prayāte |
vṛndāvane śīryati hā kuto’sau
prāṇity apuṇyaḥ subalo dvirephaḥ
||2.4.9||

English translation

From separation:
“Without the presence of the sweetness of Mādhava, Vṛndāvan became withered, without charm and devoid of flowers. How does this unfortunate, strong bee continue to live?”
