The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.3.95; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा वा —
प्रवाच्यमाने पुरतः पुराणे निशम्य कंसस्य भयातिरेकम् ।
परिप्लवान्तःकरणः समन्तात् परिम्लान-मुखस् तदासीत् ॥२.३.९५॥

yathā vā —
pravācyamāne purataḥ purāṇe niśamya kaṃsasya bhayātirekam |
pariplavāntaḥkaraṇaḥ samantāt parimlāna-mukhas tadāsīt ||2.3.95||

English translation

Another example of fear:
“Hearing of Kaṃsa’s extreme fear during a recital of the Purāṇas, one person (identifying with Kaṃsa’s fear) began to tremble within and his face darkened.”
