The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.3.40; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अमर्षाद्, यथा तत्रैव (१०.२९.३०) —
प्रेष्ठं प्रियेतरम् इव प्रतिभाषमाणं
कृष्णं तद्-अर्थ-विनिवर्तित-सर्व-कामाः ।
नेत्रे विमृज्य रुदितोपहते स्म किञ्चित्
संरम्भ-गद्गद-गिरो’ब्रुवतानुरक्ताः ॥२.३.४०॥

amarṣād, yathā tatraiva (10.29.30) —
preṣṭhaṃ priyetaram iva pratibhāṣamāṇaṃ
kṛṣṇaṃ tad-artha-vinivartita-sarva-kāmāḥ
|
netre vimṛjya ruditopahate sma kiñcit
saṃrambha-gadgada-giro’bruvatānuraktāḥ
||2.3.40||

English translation

From anger, also from the Tenth Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [10.29.30]:
“Although Kṛṣṇa was their beloved, and although they had abandoned all other objects of desire for His sake, He had been speaking to them unfavorably. Nonetheless, they remained unflinching in their attachment to Him. Stopping their crying, they wiped their eyes and began to speak, their voices stammering with agitation.”
