The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.3.28; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ स्वेदः —
स्वेदो हर्ष-भय-क्रोधादि-जः क्लेद-करस् तनोः ॥२.३.२८॥

atha svedaḥ
svedo harṣa-bhaya-krodhādi-jaḥ kleda-karas tanoḥ ||2.3.28||

English translation

“Perspiration: Perspiration arises from joy, fear and anger. It makes the body damp.”
