The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.3.22; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. तत्र हर्षाद्, यथा तृतीये (३.२.१४)
यस्यानुराग-प्लुत-हास-रास-
लीलावलोक-प्रतिलब्ध-मानाः ।
व्रज-स्त्रियो दृग्भिर् अनुप्रवृत्त-
धियो’वतस्थुः किल कृत्य-शेषाः ॥२.३.२२॥tatra harṣād, yathā tṛtīye (3.2.14)
yasyānurāga-pluta-hāsa-rāsa-
līlāvaloka-pratilabdha-mānāḥ |
vraja-striyo dṛgbhir anupravṛtta-
dhiyo’vatasthuḥ kila kṛtya-śeṣāḥ ||2.3.22||
English translation
Paralysis arising from joy, from the Third Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [3.2.14]:
“The damsels of Vraja, after pastimes of laughter, humor and exchanges of glances, were anguished when Kṛṣṇa left them. They used to follow Him with their eyes, and thus they sat down with stunned intelligence and could not finish their household duties.”
