The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.361; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

कुसुमादि-कृतं चेदं वन्य-मण्डनम् ईरितम् ।
धातु-कॢप्तं तिलकं पत्र-भङ्ग-लतादिकम् ॥२.१.३६१॥

kusumādi-kṛtaṃ cedaṃ vanya-maṇḍanam īritam |
dhātu-kḷptaṃ tilakaṃ patra-bhaṅga-latādikam
||2.1.361||

English translation

“When these decorations are made of flowers they are called sylvan ornaments. The drawings using curved lines painted on the forehead and body are made of minerals.”
