The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.332; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
कान्ताभिः कलहायते क्वचिद् अयं कन्दर्प-लेखान् क्वचित्
कीरैर् अर्पयति क्वचिद् वितनुते क्रीडाभिसारोद्यमम् ।
सख्या भेदयति क्वचित् स्मर-कला-षाड्गुण्यवान् ईहते
सन्धिं क्वाप्य् अनुशास्ति कुञ्ज-नृपतिः शृङ्गार-राज्योत्तमम् ॥२.१.३३२॥yathā —
kāntābhiḥ kalahāyate kvacid ayaṃ kandarpa-lekhān kvacit
kīrair arpayati kvacid vitanute krīḍābhisārodyamam |
sakhyā bhedayati kvacit smara-kalā-ṣāḍguṇyavān īhate
sandhiṃ kvāpy anuśāsti kuñja-nṛpatiḥ śṛṅgāra-rājyottamam ||2.1.332||
English translation
An example:
“The king of the groves, equipped with the six elements necessary for the arts of Cupid, rules the excellent kingdom of romantic love. In one place He picks a quarrel with His beloved women. In another place He dispatches love letters along with parrots. In another place He becomes eager to meet for pastimes.
In another place, He resolves differences using a go-between, and in another place, He unites with a gopī.”
