The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.253; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र शोभा —
नीचे दयाधिके स्पर्धा शौर्योत्साहौ च दक्षता ।
सत्यं च व्यक्तिम् आयाति यत्र शोभेति तां विदुः ॥२.१.२५३॥

tatra śobhā
nīce dayādhike spardhā śauryotsāhau ca dakṣatā |
satyaṃ ca vyaktim āyāti yatra śobheti tāṃ viduḥ
||2.1.253||

English translation

“Among the ornaments of auspiciousness, where there is mercy to subordinates, emulation of superiors, courage, enthusiasm, expertise and truthfulness, it is known as glory [śobha]”
