The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.232; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

गोविन्दे प्रकटं धीर-ललितत्वं प्रदर्श्यते ।
उदाहरन्ति नाट्य-ज्ञाः प्रायो’त्र मकर-ध्वजम् ॥२.१.२३२॥

govinde prakaṭaṃ dhīra-lalitatvaṃ pradarśyate |
udāharanti nāṭya-jñāḥ prāyo’tra makara-dhvajam
||2.1.232||

English translation

“The qualities of the dhīra-lalita are clearly revealed in Kṛṣṇa. But the dramatic scholars give the example of Cupid.”
