The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.220; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

नित्य-गुणो वनमाली, यद् अपि शिखामणिर् अशेष-नेतॄणाम् ।
भक्तापेक्षिकम् अस्य, त्रिविधत्वं लिख्यते तद् अपि ॥२.१.२२०॥

nitya-guṇo vanamālī, yad api śikhāmaṇir aśeṣa-netṝṇām |
bhaktāpekṣikam asya, trividhatvaṃ likhyate tad api
||2.1.220||

English translation

“Even though Kṛṣṇa is the topmost jewel among unlimited heroes endowed with eternal qualities, He is described as having three forms, that manifest according to the type of devotion of the worshiper.”
