The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.159; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
त्वद्-यशः-कुमुद-बन्धु-कौमुदी
शुभ्र-भावम् अभितो नयन्त्य् अपि ।
नन्दनन्दन कथं नु निर्ममे
कृष्ण-भाव-कलिलं जगत्-त्रयम् ॥२.१.१५९॥

yathā —
tvad-yaśaḥ-kumuda-bandhu-kaumudī
śubhra-bhāvam abhito nayanty api |
nandanandana kathaṃ nu nirmame
kṛṣṇa-bhāva-kalilaṃ jagat-trayam
||2.1.159||

English translation

“O son of Nanda! Since the light of the moon of Your good qualities has already turned everything radiant (white), how can it make the world thick with Kṛṣṇa-prema? (kṛṣṇa also means darkness)”
