The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.98; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

सत्य-नियमो, यथा —
गिरेर् उद्धरणं कृष्ण दुष्करं कर्म कुर्वता ।
मद्-भक्तः स्यान् न दुःखीति स्व-व्रतं विवृतं त्वया ॥२.१.९७॥

satya-niyamo, yathā —
girer uddharaṇaṃ kṛṣṇa duṣkaraṃ karma kurvatā |
mad-bhaktaḥ syān na duḥkhīti sva-vrataṃ vivṛtaṃ tvayā
||2.1.97||

English translation

अन् एxअम्प्ले ओf बेइन्ग् त्रुए तो पेर्पेतुअल् वोwस्:
“ओ कृष्ण! योउ वोwएद् थत् योउर् देवोतेए wइल्ल् नेवेर् सुffएर्. योउ हवे इल्लुस्त्रतेद् थत् ब्य् पेर्fओर्मिन्ग् थे दिffइचुल्त् तस्क् ओf लिfतिन्ग् गोवर्धन हिल्ल्.”

(१९) देश-काल-सुपात्रज्ञः —
देश-काल-सुपात्रज्ञस् तत्-तद्-योग्य-क्रिया-कृतिः ॥२.१.९८॥

An example of being true to perpetual vows:
“O Kṛṣṇa! You vowed that Your devotee will never suffer. You have illustrated that by performing the difficult task of lifting Govardhana Hill.”

(19) deśa-kāla-supātrajñaḥ —
deśa-kāla-supātrajñas tat-tad-yogya-kriyā-kṛtiḥ ||2.1.98||

English translation

(19) deśa-kāla-supātrajñaḥ: knower of place, time and person —
“The knower of place, time and person is one who performs actions suitable to the time, place and person.”
