The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.96; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा वा —
स-हेलम् आखण्डल-पाण्डु-पुत्रौ विधाय कंसारिर् अपारिजातौ ।
निज-प्रतिज्ञां सफलां दधानः
सत्यां च कृष्णां च सुखाम् अकार्षीत् ॥२.१.९६॥

yathā vā —
sa-helam ākhaṇḍala-pāṇḍu-putrau vidhāya kaṃsārir apārijātau |
nija-pratijñāṃ saphalāṃ dadhānaḥ
satyāṃ ca kṛṣṇāṃ ca sukhām akārṣīt
||2.1.96||

English translation

Another example:
Kṛṣṇa, the enemy of Kaṃsa, very easily made Indra bereft of the Pārijāta tree and pleased Satyabhāmā. He also made Yudhiṣṭhīra devoid of enemies and pleased Draupadi. In this way He fulfilled His promises.”
