The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.3; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अस्य पञ्च लहर्यः स्युर् विभावाख्याग्रिमा मता ।
द्वितीया त्व् अनुभावाख्या तृतीया सात्त्विकाभिधा ।
व्यभिचार्य्-अभिधा तुर्या स्थायि-संज्ञा च पञ्चमी ॥२.१.३॥

asya pañca laharyaḥ syur vibhāvākhyāgrimā matā |
dvitīyā tv anubhāvākhyā tṛtīyā sāttvikābhidhā |
vyabhicāry-abhidhā turyā sthāyi-saṃjñā ca pañcamī
||2.1.3||

English translation

“There are five Waves or chapters in this Southern Ocean. The first deals with vibhāva; the second with anubhāva; the third with sāttvika-bhāva; the fourth with vyabhicārī-bhāva, and the fifth with sthāyī-bhāva.”
