The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.3.20; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा शुक-संहितायां —
महाभागवतो जातः पुत्रस् ते बादरायण ।
विनोपायैर् उपेयाभूद् विष्णु-भक्तिर् इहोदिता ॥१.३.२०॥

yathā śuka-saṃhitāyāṃ —
mahābhāgavato jātaḥ putras te bādarāyaṇa |
vinopāyair upeyābhūd viṣṇu-bhaktir ihoditā
||1.3.20||

English translation

Thus it is said in the Śuka-saṃhīta:
“O Bādarāyaṇa, you have given birth to a great devotee as your son. Without sādhana, which brings about the goal, viṣṇu-bhakti has appeared within his heart.”
