The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.3.13 ; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

पुराणे नात्य-शास्त्रे च द्वयोस् तु रति-भावयोः ।
समानार्थतया ह्य् अत्र द्वयम् ऐक्येन लक्षितम् ॥१.३.१३ ॥

purāṇe nātya-śāstre ca dvayos tu rati-bhāvayoḥ |
samānārthatayā hy atra dvayam aikyena lakṣitam ||1.3.13 ||

English translation

“In the Purāṇas and Nātya-śāstra, rati and bhāva have the same meaning. Thus they will have the same meaning in this work also.”
