The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.3.12 ; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. तृतीये च (३.२५.२५) —
सतां प्रसङ्गान् मम वीर्य-संविदो
भवन्ति हृत्-कर्ण-रसायनाः कथाः ।
तज्-जोषणाद् आश्व् अपवर्ग-वर्त्मनि
श्रद्धा रतिर् भक्तिर् अनुक्रमिष्यति ॥१.३.१२ ॥tṛtīye ca (3.25.25) —
satāṃ prasaṅgān mama vīrya-saṃvido
bhavanti hṛt-karṇa-rasāyanāḥ kathāḥ |
taj-joṣaṇād āśv apavarga-vartmani
śraddhā ratir bhaktir anukramiṣyati ||1.3.12 ||
English translation
There is a similar usage of the word bhakti in the Third Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [3.25.25]:
“In the association of pure devotees, discussion of the pastimes and activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is very pleasing and satisfying to the ear and the heart. By cultivating such knowledge one gradually develops faith, rati and prema for Kṛṣṇa.”
