The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.283 ; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र कामरूपा —
सा कामरूपा सम्भोग-तृष्णां या नयति स्वताम् ।
यद् अस्यां कृष्ण-सौख्यार्थम् एव केवलम् उद्यमः ॥१.२.२८३ ॥

tatra kāmarūpā
sā kāmarūpā sambhoga-tṛṣṇāṃ yā nayati svatām |
yad asyāṃ kṛṣṇa-saukhyārtham eva kevalam udyamaḥ
||1.2.283 ||

English translation

Here is the definition of kāmarūpa-rāgātmika-bhakti:
“That type of bhakti with full absorption in the Beloved which produces an intrinsic thirst for a conjugal relationship with the Lord is called kāmarūpa-bhakti. It is called bhakti because in that condition there is only eagerness for giving pleasure to Kṛṣṇa.”
