The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.218; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

आदी-पुराणे —
ये मे भक्त-जनाः पार्थ न मे भक्ताश् च ते जनाः ।
मद्-भक्तानां च ये भक्तास् ते मे भक्ततमा मताः ॥१.२.२१८॥

ādī-purāṇe —
ye me bhakta-janāḥ pārtha na me bhaktāś ca te janāḥ |
mad-bhaktānāṃ ca ye bhaktās te me bhaktatamā matāḥ
||1.2.218||

English translation

Ādi-purāṇa says:
“Those who claim to be My devotees are not My devotees; Those who are the devotees of My devotees, I consider them to be the best of My devotees.”
