The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.178; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अथ ध्यानम् —
ध्यानम् रुप-गुण-क्रीडा-सेवादेः सुष्ठु चिन्तनम् ॥१.२.१७८॥

atha dhyānam —
dhyānam rupa-guṇa-krīḍā-sevādeḥ suṣṭhu cintanam ||1.2.178||

English translation

“Meditation: Meditation means to contemplate with absorption upon the Lord’s form, qualities, pastimes and service.”
