The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.177; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा च पाद्मे —
प्रयाणे चाप्रयाणे च यन्-नाम स्मरतां नॄणाम् ।
सद्यो नश्यति पापौघो नमस् तस्मै चिद्-आत्मने ॥१.२.१७७॥

yathā ca pādme —
prayāṇe cāprayāṇe ca yan-nāma smaratāṃ nṝṇām |
sadyo naśyati pāpaugho namas tasmai cid-ātmane
||1.2.177||

English translation

Remembrance is also illustrated in the Padma Purāṇa:
“I offer my respects to the omniscient Lord. Remembrance of His Holy Name, while living or dying, immediately destroys heaps of sins committed by men.”
