The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.146; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र नाम-कीर्तनम्, यथा विष्णु-धर्मे —
कृष्णेति मङ्गलं नाम यस्य वाचि प्रवर्तते ।
भस्मीभवन्ति राजेन्द्र महा-पातक-कोटयः ॥१.२.१४६॥

tatra nāma-kīrtanam, yathā viṣṇu-dharme
kṛṣṇeti maṅgalaṃ nāma yasya vāci pravartate |
bhasmībhavanti rājendra mahā-pātaka-koṭayaḥ
||1.2.146||

English translation

Chanting of the Holy Name of the Lord is illustrated in the Viṣṇu-dharma:
“O King, he who chants the auspicious Holy Name of Kṛṣṇa turns to ashes ten million of the worst sins.”
