The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.62; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

काशी-खण्डे च तथा —
अन्त्यजा अपि तद्-राष्ट्रे शङ्ख-चक्राङ्क-धारिणः ।
सम्प्राप्य वैष्णवीं दीक्षां दीक्षिता इव सम्बभुः ॥१.२.६२॥

kāśī-khaṇḍe ca tathā —
antyajā api tad-rāṣṭre śaṅkha-cakrāṅka-dhāriṇaḥ |
samprāpya vaiṣṇavīṃ dīkṣāṃ dīkṣitā iva sambabhuḥ
||1.2.62||

English translation

In the Kāśī-khaṇḍa [of Śrī Mahābhārata] it is said:
“In that country the outcastes, receiving Vaiṣṇava initiation, wearing the marks of the conch and disc, shine like sacrificial priests.”
