The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.56; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

सुखैश्वर्योत्तरा सेयं प्रेम-सेवोत्तरेत्य् अपि ।
सालोक्यादिर् द्विधा तत्र नाद्या सेवा-जुषं मता ॥१.२.५६॥

sukhaiśvaryottarā seyaṃ prema-sevottarety api |
sālokyādir dvidhā tatra nādyā sevā-juṣaṃ matā ||1.2.56||

English translation

“There are two varieties of these four types of liberation: one, predominated by the desire for happiness and power; and the other, predominated by the desire for prema. The first variety is not accepted by those who are inclined to serve the Lord.”
