The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.2.8; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

पाद्मे च —
स्मर्तव्यः सततं विष्णुर् विस्मर्तव्यो न जातुचित् ।
सर्वे विधि-निषेधाः स्युर् एतयोर् एव किङ्कराः ॥१.२.८॥

pādme ca —
smartavyaḥ satataṃ viṣṇur vismartavyo na jātucit |
sarve vidhi-niṣedhāḥ syur etayor eva kiṅkarāḥ
||1.2.8||

English translation

In the Padma Purāṇa it is said:
“One should always remember Viṣṇu and never forget Him. All injunctions and prohibitions are based upon these two principles.”
