The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.1.19; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र पापम् —
अप्रारब्धं भवेत् पापं प्रारब्धं चेति तद् द्विधा ॥१.१.१९॥

tatra pāpam —
aprārabdhaṃ bhavet pāpaṃ prārabdhaṃ ceti tad dvidhā
||1.1.19||

English translation

“First we will discuss sinful reactions. There are two types of sinful reactions (effects of sinful acts): effects that are experienced in this lifetime (prārabdham) and effects that will be experienced in future lives (aprārabdham).”
