The Bhagavad-gita Verse 5.25, English translation, including the Vaishnava commentaries Sarartha-varsini-tika, Prakashika-vritti and Rasika-ranjana (excerpts). This is verse 25 from the chapter 5 called “Karma-sannyasa-yoga (Yoga through Renunciation of Action)”

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration, Word-for-word and English translation of verse 5.25:

लभन्ते ब्रह्म-निर्वाणम् ऋषयः क्षीण-कल्मषाः ।
छिन्न-द्वैधा यतात्मानः सर्व-भूत-हिते रताः ॥ २५ ॥

labhante brahma-nirvāṇam ṛṣayaḥ kṣīṇa-kalmaṣāḥ |
chinna-dvaidhā yatātmānaḥ sarva-bhūta-hite ratāḥ
|| 25 ||

labhante–they achieve; brahma-nirvāṇam–the bliss of absolute spiritual emancipation;ṛṣayaḥ–persons inspired from within; kṣīṇa–are destroyed; kalmaṣāḥ–sinful qualities; chinna-dvaidhāḥ–one-pointed, who are without doubts; yata-ātmānaḥ–who have self-controlled minds; sarva-bhūta-hite–to the welfare of all living beings; ratāḥ–who are attached.

Those saintly persons who are free from sin and doubt, who control their minds, and who are attached to the welfare of all living entities, attain emancipation from material existence through realization of Absolute Spirit (brahma).

Commentary: Sārārtha-Varṣiṇī Ṭīkā

(By Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura; the innermost intention of the commentary named ‘the shower of essential meanings’)

Many persons attain perfection by practice (sādhana-siddha). To explain this, Śrī Bhagavān speaks this verse beginning with the word labhante.
