तान् समीक्ष्य स कौन्तेयः सर्वान् बन्धून् अवस्थितान् ।
कृपया परयाविष्टो विषीदन्न् इदम् अब्रवीत् ॥ २७ ॥

tān samīkṣya sa kaunteyaḥ sarvān bandhūn avasthitān |
kṛpayā parayāviṣṭo viṣīdann idam abravīt || 27 ||

tān–those; samīkṣya–after seeing; saḥ–he; kaunteyaḥArjuna, the son of Kuntī; sarvān–all; bandhūn–relatives and friends; avasthitān–standing near; kṛpayā–by compassion; parayā–by great; āviṣṭaḥ–over come; viṣīdan–lamenting; idam–thus; abravīt–spoke.

Seeing all his friends and relatives standing before him on the battlefield, the son of Kuntī, Arjuna, lamenting and overwhelmed with compassion for them, spoke thus.
