न लक्ष्यते स्फुटं यत्र पद-सन्धान-कौशलात् ।
क्रियादि सद् अपि प्राज्ञैः क्रिया-गुप्तादि तत् स्मृतम् ॥ ११.४ ॥

na lakṣyate sphuṭaṃ yatra pada-sandhāna-kauśalāt |
kriyādi sad api prājñaiḥ kriyā-guptādi tat smṛtam ||11.4||

When a word such as a verb is not clearly perceived, though it exists, because of the excellence of the phonetic combination, that is known as kriyā-gupti (concealment of an action) and so on by knowledgeable persons.
