यथा वा,
राधे तडिद्-गौरि तवैष गण्डयोः कर्णावलम्बी नव-केतकी-छदः ।
न सौरभेणापि गतो विभिन्नतां मधु-व्रतेनैष विविच्य बोधितः ॥

yathā vā,
rādhe taḍid-gauri tavaiṣa gaṇḍayoḥ karṇāvalambī nava-ketakī-chadaḥ |
na saurabheṇāpi gato vibhinnatāṃ madhu-vratenaiṣa vivicya bodhitaḥ ||

rādhe—O Rādhā; taḍit—like lightning; gauri—O You who are fair; tava—Your; eṣaḥ—this; gaṇḍayoḥ—on the two cheeks; karṇa—from the ears; avalambī—dangles; nava—fresh; ketakī—of a ketakī flower; chadaḥ—petal; na—not; saurabheṇa—in terms of fragrance; api—even; gataḥ—attained; vibhinnatām—difference; madhu-vratena—by a bee; eṣaḥ—this; vivicya—after discriminating; bodhitaḥ—is made known.

O Rādhā, O You whose complexion is fair like lightning, fresh golden ketakī flower petals on Your cheeks touch your ears. The petals are not different from Your skin, even in terms of fragrance. They were made to be perceived only by the bees. (Alaṅkāra-kaustubha 8.283)

atra hetv-antarajāpi bheda-dhīḥ prāktanam abhedaṃ nodasyati, tasya pratītatvāt.

Although the perception of difference originates from another type of cause (the bees), that perception is unable to shake off the perception of nondifference perceived earlier because the nondifference was perceived [and cannot be forgotten because in retrospect it is striking].
