उदाहरणम्,
श्रवसोः कुवलयम् अक्ष्णोर् अञ्जनम् उरसो महेन्द्र-मणि-दाम ।
वृन्दावन-रमणीनां मण्डनम् अखिलं हरिर् जयति ॥
udāharaṇam,
śravasoḥ kuvalayam akṣṇor añjanam uraso mahendra-maṇi-dāma |
vṛndāvana-ramaṇīnāṃ maṇḍanam akhilaṃ harir jayati ||
śravasoḥ—for the two ears; kuvalayam—blue lotus flowers; akṣṇoḥ—for the two eyes; añjanam—ointment; urasaḥ—for the chest; mahendra-maṇi-dāma—a necklace of indranīla gems; vṛndāvana-ramaṇīnām—for the young women of Vṛndāvana; maṇḍanam—ornaments; akhilam—all; hariḥ—Hari; jayati—supereminently exists.
He is the blue water lilies on the gopīs’ ears, the eyeliner on their eyes, and the necklace of indranīla gems on their chests. He is all their ornaments. Hari is supereminent. (Alaṅkāra-kaustubha 8.77) (Caitanya-caritāmṛta 3.16.74)
Commentary:
Paṇḍita-rāja Jagannātha illustrates mālā-rūpaka,
vajraṃ pāpa-mahībhṛtāṃ bhava-gadodrekasya siddhauṣadhaṃ
mithyā-jñāna-niśā-viśāla-tamasas tigmāṃśu-bimbodayaḥ |
krūra-kleśa-mahīruhām urutara-jvālā-jaṭālaḥ śikhī
dvāraṃ nirvṛti-sadmano vijayate kṛṣṇeti varṇa-dvayam ||“The pair of syllables “Kṛṣ-ṇa” is glorious. It is a thunderbolt for the mountains of sinful reactions, the effective medicine for the upsurge of the disease of material life, the rise of the sun for the deep darkness of the night of false knowledge, the conflagration for the trees of fierce afflictions, and the entrance gate to the palace of beatitude” (Bhāminī-vilāsa 4.8).
