समस्त-वस्तु-विषयं श्रौता आरोपिता यदि ॥ १०.९३cd ॥

samasta-vastu-viṣayaṃ śrautā āropitā yadi || 10.93cd ||

samasta-vastu-viṣayam—the subvariety called samasta-vastu-viṣaya (“its scope is all the things”[1]); śrautāḥ—are stated (“related to hearing”); āropitāḥ—the upamānas (“the things superimposed”) [and the upameyas]; yadi—if.

If all the upamānas and the upameyas are stated, that is the subvariety called samasta-vastu-viṣaya (complete overall metaphor).

bahutvam avivakṣitam. āropa-viṣayā ivāropyamāṇāś cec chabdopāttāḥ syus tadā samasta-vastu-viṣayaṃ nāma rūpakam.

The plural does not always apply.[2] If both the upamānas and the upameyas are mentioned, that is the rūpaka called samasta-vastu-viṣaya. (All the metaphors needed to complete the imagery are expressed.)
