3. Upameyopamā

विपर्यास उपमेयोपमा तयोः ॥ १०.९१cd ॥

viparyāsa upameyopamā tayoḥ || 10.91cd ||

If the upamāna and the upameya in one sentence become the upameya and the upamāna in the second sentence, that is upameyopamā (mutual comparison).

tayor upamānopameyayoś cet parivṛttir arthād vākya-dvaye syāt tadopameyopamā. (The translation of the elaboration was incorporated in the translation of the sūtra.)
