tenāyaṃ pañcadhā mataḥ || 9.82d ||

Therefore this alliteration, lāṭa anuprāsa, has five varieties.

ayaṃ lāṭa-priyaḥ. saṅkalanayā tv anuprāsas tridhā cheka-vṛtti-lāṭa-pūrvakatvāt.

Thus there are three broad kinds of alliteration: cheka, vṛtti, and lāṭa.
