[This is another example of vṛtti anuprāsa,]
मुकुन्द नन्दीश्वर-मन्दिरस्य तवेन्दिराभिः प्रतिबिम्बितस्य ।
यदा पदाब्जं प्रमदा ह्य् उपास्ते तदा सदानन्दतया चकास्ति ॥
mukunda nandīśvara-mandirasya tavendirābhiḥ pratibimbitasya |
yadā padābjaṃ pramadā hy upāste[1] tadā sadānandatayā cakāsti ||
mukunda—O Mukunda; nandīśvara-mandirasya—whose abode is Nandīśvara; tava—of Yours; indirābhiḥ—with Lakṣmīs (or gopīs); pratibimbitasya—who are reflected (mirrored); yadā—when; pada-abjam—the lotus feet; pramadā—a young woman; hi—only; upāste—serves; tadā—then; sadā-ānandatayā—as one who always has bliss; cakāsti—she shines.
[In Kurukṣetra, Rādhā addresses Kṛṣṇa:] O Mukunda, Your abode is Nandīśvara. You are holographed in the company of Lakṣmīs. When a young woman serves Your lotus feet, she shines by being always blissful.
atrānekasya ca vyañjanasya bahu-kṛtvaḥ sāmyam. ekasya sakṛt sāmye’pi kecid vṛttim icchanti, yathā, vyādhūta-cūtāṅkura iti.
In this verse, there is a multiple repetition of many consonants.
Some persons say vṛtti anuprāsa also occurs in a one-time repetition. An example is in vyādhūta-cūtāṅkura (Gīta-govinda 1.37).
Commentary:
The verse features a vṛtti anuprāsa of nd in “mukunda nandīśvara-mandirasya tavendirābhiḥ” and a vṛtti anuprāsa of d in the second half of the verse.
Kavikarṇapūra defines cheka anuprāsa as a one-time immediate repetition of a phoneme.[2] However, Viśvanātha Kavirāja counts a one-time immediate repetition of a consonant as a type of vṛtti anuprāsa.[3] An example is the single repetition of t in: “vyādhūta-cūtāṅkura.”
