Text 7.105
कुमारस् ते माहाराज श्रियं समधिगच्छति. अत्र त्वं म्रियस्वेति विरुद्धं प्रकाश्यते.
kumāras te māhārāja śriyaṃ samadhigacchati.[1] atra tvaṃ mriyasveti viruddhaṃ prakāśyate.
(19) [This is an example of prakāśita-viruddha (contradicted by an implied sense):] “O king, may your boy become rich.” Here the meaning “You should die” is implied in a contradictory way.
Commentary:
In this fault, the word artha in the term artha-doṣa means an implied sense (vyaṅgya artha). This means the implied sense contradicts what is stated and is not intended.[2] Kavikarṇapūra replaced the name prakāśita-viruddha with vyaṅgya-viruddha (contradicted by an implied sense) (Alaṅkāra-kaustubha 10.107). Moreover, in the fault called viruddha-mati-kṛt (it causes a contradictory thought) (7.21) (7.46), there is no implied sense.
