yathā vā,

This is another example of bhagna-prakrama (broken symmetry):

yaśaḥ prāptuṃ ripūñ jetuṃ svargasya ca didṛkṣayā |
ārādhayati yo viṣṇuṃ śāstrārthaṃ sa na budhyate ||

A person who worships Viṣṇu to obtain fame, to defeat enemies, and with the desire to see paradise does not understand the purpose of the scriptures.

atra tumun-pratyayasya.

Here the symmetry of the suffix tum[un], is broken (“with the desire” should be replaced by “to desire”).
