यत्र वाक्य-मध्ये वाक्यान्तरं प्रविशति तद् गर्भितम्। यथा,
yatra vākya-madhye vākyāntaraṃ praviśati tad garbhitam. yathā,
(17) The fault called garbhita (parenthesis) means a clause is within another sentence. For example:
bhagavad-vimukhair lokais tadīya-jana-nindakaiḥ |
bhaṇāmi bhavatas tattvaṃ nocitā vasatiḥ kvacit ||
Residing somewhere—I tell you the truth—with people who are averse to the Lord and who criticize His devotees is improper.
atra bhavatas tattvaṃ bhaṇāmīti vākyaṃ vākya-madhye praviṣṭam.
Here the clause “I tell you the truth” is within another sentence.
