इह मुर-हरान्यत् किं भाव्यं भवत्-पद-सेवनात्। इह षष्ठे वर्णे पर-पद-सन्धान-कृता यतिर् अश्रव्या।

iha mura-harānyat kiṃ bhāvyaṃ bhavat-pada-sevanāt. iha ṣaṣṭhe varṇe para-pada-sandhāna-kṛtā yatir aśravyā.

[This is an example of the third variety of hata-vṛtta (unmelodious although it conforms to the definition):] iha mura-harānyat kiṃ bhāvyaṃ bhavat-pada-sevanāt, “O Murāri, what else is to be experienced in this world except service to Your feet?” In this meter (hariṇī), the cesura is ordained after the sixth syllable (after ā in harānyat), yet here it is unmelodious because it occurs in the middle of the phonetic combination with the next word.

Commentary:

According to Mammaṭa, this fault also occurs when, at the cesura, a short syllable is used as a long syllable because it is conjoined with a following conjunct consonant. An example is: vadatu yadi hānyat svādu syāt priyā-daśana-cchadāt (Kāvya-prakāśa, verse 215). Mammaṭa explains: atra “yadi hānyat svādu syāt” ity aśravyam, “In this line, the cesura in “svādu syāt” does not sound nice” (Kāvya-prakāśa, verse 215 vṛtti). Here also the meter is hariṇī.
