[थिस् वेर्से एxएम्प्लिfइएस् थे सेचोन्द् वरिएत्य् ओf हत-वृत्त (थे मेतेर् इस् नोत् इन् चोन्fओर्मित्य् wइथ् थे रस):]
[This verse exemplifies the second variety of hata-vṛtta (the meter is not in conformity with the rasa):]
ayi mayi mānini mā kuru mānaṃ vitara mṛgākṣi nijādhara-pānam | jīvatu dayita-jano harir eṣa pratigata-virahaja-duḥkha-viśeṣaḥ ||
O sulky girl, don’t be angry at Me. O doe-eyed girl, bestow the nectar of Your lips. I, Hari, a dear person, should remain alive. Because of Me, the distinct sorrow generated from separation goes away.
atra pajjaṭikā-vṛttaṃ vipralambha-pratikūlaṃ hāsya-vyañjitvāt.
The pajjaṭikā (pajjhaṭikā) meter is suggestive of hāsya-rasa, therefore in this verse it is adverse to vipralambha (separation).
