द्वितीयस् तु भावी भवन् भूतश् चेति त्रिधा. क्रमेणोदाहरणानि,

dvitīyas tu bhāvī bhavan bhūtaś ceti tridhā. krameṇodāharaṇāni,

The second kind of pravāsa vipralambha, when the lover is very far away, has three varieties: in the future, in the present, and in the past. Examples are shown in order:

eṣa kṣattā vraja-narapater ājñayā gokule’smin bāle prātar nagara-gataye ghoṣaṇām ātanoti |
duṣṭaṃ bhūyaḥ sphurati ca balād īkṣaṇaṃ dakṣiṇaṃ me tena svāntaṃ sphuṭati caṭulaṃ hanta bhāvyaṃ na jāne ||

eṣaḥ kṣattā—this gatekeeper; vraja-nara-pateḥ—of the king of Vraja; ājñayā—by the order; gokule—in Gokula; asmin—here; bāle—O girl; prātaḥ—in the morning; nagara-gataye—to go to the city; ghoṣaṇām—the announcement; ātanoti—is spreading; duṣṭam—in such a way that there is evil; bhūyaḥ—repeatedly; sphurati—quivers; ca—and; balāt—by force; īkṣaṇam—eye; dakṣiṇam—right; me—my; tena—because of that; svāntamheart; sphuṭati—is breaking apart; caṭulam—agitated; hanta—alas; bhāvyam—what will be; na jāne—I do not know.

[One gopī speaks to another:] By the order of the king of Vraja, here in Gokula this gatekeeper is announcing Kṛṣṇa’s departure for Mathurā tomorrow morning. My right eye is repeatedly quivering by force, in a manner that bodes evil, and as a result my unsteady heart is breaking apart. Alas, I don’t know what will happen.
