अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे प॒थिभि॒रीय॑मानो॒ न नि वि॑शते कत॒मच्च॒नाह॑: । अ॒पां सखा॑ प्रथम॒जा ऋ॒तावा॒ क्व॑ स्विज्जा॒तः कुत॒ आ ब॑भूव ॥
अन्तरिक्षे पथिभिरीयमानो न नि विशते कतमच्चनाहः । अपां सखा प्रथमजा ऋतावा क्व स्विज्जातः कुत आ बभूव ॥
antarikṣe pathibhir īyamāno na ni viśate katamac canāhaḥ | apāṃ sakhā prathamajā ṛtāvā kva svij jātaḥ kuta ā babhūva ||
English translation:
“Traversing the firmament by its paths, (Vāyu) rests not for a single day; the friend of the waters, thefirst-born, the utterer of truth-- where has he been genitive rated, whence was he manifested?”
