प्र॒वत्ते॑ अग्ने॒ जनि॑मा पितूय॒तः सा॒चीव॒ विश्वा॒ भुव॑ना॒ न्यृ॑ञ्जसे । प्र सप्त॑य॒: प्र स॑निषन्त नो॒ धिय॑: पु॒रश्च॑रन्ति पशु॒पा इ॑व॒ त्मना॑ ॥
प्रवत्ते अग्ने जनिमा पितूयतः साचीव विश्वा भुवना न्यृञ्जसे । प्र सप्तयः प्र सनिषन्त नो धियः पुरश्चरन्ति पशुपा इव त्मना ॥
pravat te agne janimā pitūyataḥ sācīva viśvā bhuvanā ny ṛñjase | pra saptayaḥ pra saniṣanta no dhiyaḥ puraś caranti paśupā iva tmanā ||
English translation:
“Exalted is the birth of you, Agni, who are desirous of (sacrificial) food; you preside like a councillorover all created beings; our praises flowing smoothly proceed to you, as herdsmen of their own will (go slowly)before (their flocks).”
