अ॒साव॒न्यो अ॑सुर सूयत॒ द्यौस्त्वं विश्वे॑षां वरुणासि॒ राजा॑ । मू॒र्धा रथ॑स्य चाक॒न्नैताव॒तैन॑सान्तक॒ध्रुक् ॥
असावन्यो असुर सूयत द्यौस्त्वं विश्वेषां वरुणासि राजा । मूर्धा रथस्य चाकन्नैतावतैनसान्तकध्रुक् ॥
asāv anyo asura sūyata dyaus tvaṃ viśveṣāṃ varuṇāsi rājā | mūrdhā rathasya cākan naitāvatainasāntakadhruk ||
English translation:
“(Mitra), scatterer of darkness, the Heaven gave birth to you the other; you, Varuṇa, are sovereignover all. The head of (your) chariot desired (this sacrifice); opposing the destroyer, (the rite) is not (vitiated) bythe smallest defect.”
Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya
The Heaven gave birth: anyaḥ = anyam, other than Varuṇa; head of your chariot: or, thehead of the sacrifice, i.e., Soma
